Vaseline(R) Spray & Go Moisturizer Total Moisture. $7.99 for a 6.5 oz can

What is it? Basically it’s lotion in a continuous spray can that you can quickly spray on your skin and it doesn’t need a lot of time and energy rubbing all the lotion in your skin (and waiting to put your clothes on in the morning). Leaves skin instantly soft without being sticky or greasy.

Bottom line: I like the smell and the “continuous spray.” Unfortunately, I have VERY dry skin and a skin condition called Keratosis Pilaris so this lotion just isn’t moisturizing enough for me. After using it in the morning, I’d have to reapply 2-3 more times during the day to get the same effect as my extra strength lotion. Also, this formula contains parabens, which I try to avoid. But it does make my skin soft, even if it’s for a short time.

Basically if you don’t have dry skin and you’re strapped for time, this might work really well for you.

NECTRESSE(TM) no calorie sweetener. $3.99 for 40 packets or $6.99 for a 5.9oz container.

What is it? NECTRESSE is a sweetener made from erythritol, some sugar, and monk fruit extract. It’s a good choice for people watching their sugar, carb, or calorie intake as it has 0 calories per serving. NECTRESSE is 100% all natural. Erythritol is a natural sugar substitute made from fermenting fruits.

Bottom Line: I tried NECTRESSE in my morning tea throughout the week. I also tried making a low carb dessert recipe using NECTRESSE to see how it behaves in a dessert application. For the tea, it wasn’t bad, although I could detect an aftertaste. Not my favorite flavor but definitely good if I don’t have any of my usual liquid sucralose handy.

low carb peanut butter cups

In terms of the low carb dessert, the outcome was pretty bad. I have experience baking, assembling, cooking (whatever you want to call it) low carb desserts. I usually use a sweetener called Swerve that is also a erythritol based sweetener. Sometimes I use xylitol as the sweetener. I made this recipe for Low Carb Peanut Butter Cups but used NECTRESSE instead of Swerve (about 25% less than the recipe called for). I know that the texture would have been different since I was using granulated and not powdered sweetener and I didn’t mind. After the peanut butter cups were finished, I tasted them and was taken aback by the extreme chemically aftertaste. This is not the norm when making low carb desserts with Swerve (or erythritol). I have reason to believe that NECTRESSE in large quantities will cause a strong aftertaste. I’m sad that my peanut butter cups are unedible:(

Give NECTRESSE a try if you can get your hands on a few packets. I can’t recommend buying a whole box or container until you know if you like the flavor of this sweetener or not.

Dickinson’s(R) Original Witch Hazel Oil Controlling Towelettes. $5.99 for a 20 count box. PLUS coupons for Dickinson’s products.

What is it? Soothing, oil controlling, portable towlettes that you can take anywhere. Gently lifts dirt, oil, and impurities from your pores resulting in a refreshed and blemish free complexion.

Bottom Line: I was skeptical at first because even though my T-zone is oily, the rest of the skin is very dry. I thought for sure the towlettes would dry out my skin completely. I was wrong! The oil controlling towlettes cleansed my skin and got rid of the oil on my nose without drying my face at all. My whole face felt really nice and clean and fresh. My mother in law tried one as well and even though she did not like the smell (didn’t bother me at all), she said her face felt so refreshed and clean. I really like these and recommend them if your face starts feeling dirty or oily throughout the day.

Colgate(R) Optic White Regimen including:

Toothpaste: $2.99 for a 4oz tube

Mouthwash: $2.99 for an 8 oz bottle

Toothbrush: $2.99 per brush

What is it? Toothpaste, toothbrush, and mouthwash. Use these products together for whiter teeth.

Bottom Line: The toothbrush is the same toothbrush I’ve been using for a while. It’s a great toothbrush and makes my teeth feel pretty clean.

The Toothpaste is the shining star here. I don’t think my teeth have felt this clean in a long time! And I had been using a competitor’s whitening toothpaste but I think Colgate’s is better. Your teeth will feel squeaky clean after using it. As a tea and coffee drinker, I do get stains on my teeth and I appreciate it when a product can help keep my teeth white. My teeth look whiter, although I can’t prove it because I don’t have clear before and after photos, but I think they look whiter in general. The toothpaste itself has small particles that scrub the stains off your teeth. Overall, my husband and I will continue to use Optic White. I like the price, the taste, and the look of my teeth after I brush.

The mouthwash does not taste particularly good, but I believe that’s because it has hydrogen peroxide that help get rid of surface stains on your teeth. I don’t use mouth wash very often.

If you’re looking for a dental regimen to help remove stains from your teeth and keep them whiter, give Colgate optic white a shot. The price is good and the toothpaste and toothbrush are great!

belVita Breakfast Biscuits: $3.69 for a box of 5 packets of 4 biscuits

What is it? breakfast biscuits that are perfect for on the go snacking or eating.

Bottom Line: DELICIOUS! But since I follow a low carb lifestyle, I cannot eat these. If you’re looking for a quick, easy, and tasty breakfast, give these biscuits/cookies a try. They taste like cinnamon oatmeal.

Sorry I know this post was a little “TLDR”… thanks for reading and I hope these reviews are helpful to any consumer out there who is on the fence.
