Promise Deluxe Open Toe Sandal
Promise Deluxe Open Toe Sandal

Hope everyone has a great Memorial Day weekend! I am heading to the beach with hubby and wonderful friends. Hubby’s best friend’s had has a beach house! Thanks hubby’s friends!

Some things to note:

1) The Limited is having a 40% off sale friday and saturday only . That’s 40% OFF EVERYTHING with code WEEKEND. What a deal!

2) I found out too darn late that Moxsie created an awesome wedge called Penelope with ShoeDazzle. They are all sold out in my size and I am sad.

3) Speaking of ShoeDazzle and their competitor, Just Fabulous (ie Shoe Fab), I spied a sexy shoe at UrbanOg that I had previously seen on JustFab. As you might know, Just Fab is a shoe club that charges $39.95 per pair. This pair from UrbanOg is available for $22.60, saving you almost 50%. I can’t find the email that had the ShoeFab version in it but I swear, they are exactly the same. Not a whole lot of stock left in the green colored sandals, but there are three other colors to choose from.

4) Also, wanted to ask y’alls opinion on the JustFabs and ShoeDazzles of the world. What do you think of this kind of monthly membership-type club? Another one I was thinking about are JewelMint. I do like the low prices but I haven’t seen anything that’s caught my eye other than Penelope. I am really picky and these types of sites don’t seem to have the style/type of thing at the price that I like.

5) Since I will be at the beach until Memorial Day, I probably won’t post again until sometime next week. Enjoy your weekend, everyone!

MUAH!

reader request: comfortable, affordable flats

My wonderful cousin Deb is a young, busy mom of three little girls. She asked me to help her find a pair of comfortable, flat, affordable, cute shoes. She would normally wear her flip flops running around and playing with her kids. But even these simple, ubiquitous flip flops have waned in their popularity. I totally get it Deb, comfortable does NOT have to mean perfunctory or boring. It’s good to shake things up once in a while!

Even though I’m not a mom, I like to get down with comfy flats too. I am going to start with my favorites as recommendations for Deb.

1. Flat Thongs Sandals

When summertime comes around and I want something simple and a little sexy, I go for my gold thong flat sandals. They go with everything, are easy to wear, and are relatively comfortable as long as you’re not on your feet all day. And at $7.50, these cute sandals won’t break the bank.

2. Crocs

Anyone that knows me knows that I love Crocs. The two main reasons that attract me to Crocs are comfort and durability during rainy days. My favorite pair are Crocs Malindi slingbacks; they are very cute, comfortable, and feminine. And they are currently on sale for $14.99-19.99, which is a steal.

I have the Malindi in navy and wear them when running around town, gardening, and even to work when it’s raining. If they get muddy, you can easily wash them off in the sink.

3. Mary Jane Athletic Flats

The third pair of go-to flats for me are a more athletic, rubber soled, Mary Jane style flats. I love that they have a hint of femininity yet are still considered athletic shoes.

My pick for Deb is this super cute Champion Mary Jane from Payless.  You can wear these with capris, shorts, pants, and even skirts and dresses. The idea is versatility, femininity, and comfort.

These cute Mary Jane sneakers are on sale for $19.99, which is not a bad price. They come in 4 different colors too.

4. Peep Toe Flats

Lastly, I want to recommend a type of flat shoe what I myself don’t own but am currently looking for– the peep toe flat!

Perfect for summer, the cute and sexy peep toe flat shoe is versatile and feminine. This type of shoe can be worn with pants, shorts, capris, skirts, or dresses.

I love these Xhilaration Singne D’Orsay peep toe Flats in red patent. I love a pop of color to brighten up your outfit. These cute flats are currently on sale for $16.99, a price that doesn’t raise any eyebrows.

There you go, Deb! I hope I was helpful in finding you a cute pair of comfortable flats! Let me know what you think!

hoop dreams: a tale of two prices

Fortuna Earrings

Modern Bohemia Earrings
Modern Bohemia Earrings

I spotted a lookalike for a pair of gorgeous earring at Shabby Apple and I had to post it.

The Fortuna Earrings are a gorgeous brass/gold colored hoop earrings that have pretty embellishments and are $16.

I also spotted a darn close lookalike at Forever21 called Modern Bohemia Earrings for a fraction of the price at $3.80.

The Forever21 version of these hoops aren’t quite as detailed in the embellishments, but they are still extremely pretty and have a somewhat exotic “tribal” vibe.

They are also available in gold tone or silver tone. For that price, you can buy both colors and still come up ahead.

What do you think of these cute hoop earrings?

sale alert: moxsie

Seychelles Arden Espadrille Wedge
Seychelles Arden Espadrille Wedge

Just got word via email that Moxsie is having a huge spring cleaning sale. That’s 50% off everything! Coupon code BLOWOUT50 will get you 50% OFF everything–WHOA. The bad news is that there are no returns or exchanges, so choose wisely.

As for me, I am loving these Seychelles Arden Espadrille wedges. I love them, so cute for the summer and nautical! And at 50% off the list price of $92, these shoes are not a bad deal!

In the dressing room: aldo

Yesterday I blogged about the Aldo Forwood wedge and how much I loved it. Well, later on yesterday, I went to the mall to visit the Forwood wedge, try it on, and take pictures.

I loved them!!! The heel is high at 5″ and about a 1″ platform, but they weren’t comfortable for the few minutes I walked in them. I would not recommend walking in them but as I sit on my butt all day at work, I can see them totally working out. I also found out I’m a size 40 at Aldo (I normally wear a size 9 but I have wide feet).

Now I want your opinions. Wed said they were tacky, so now I’m unsure. I have a hard time buying clothes and shoes at full price, so if I did buy them I would wait for a sale.

So what do y’all think? Cute? Sexy? Tacky? Don’t be shy!
