My mom just found these beautiful Miz Mooz boots and I must agree with her, they are gorgeous! I love red shoes and I think I know where I get my love of shoes–my mama is almost as shoe crazy as me. I love the vintage vibe of these boots, plus as a proud owner of Miz Mooz shoes, I can say without a doubt that they are super comfortable!

What do you all think of my mom’s Miz Mooz pick?
I am absolutely LOVING the new Shoedazzle Go For Brogue black and white heels. It’s no surprise that this vintage-inspired pump caught my eye– it’s got the menswear-inspired wingtip or oxford styling, it’s patent leather, has a cute bow, and it’s black and white. If it were a peep-toe and Mary Jane style, I would definitely be in shoe heaven.
Plus as if you needed another excuse to purchase this beauty, 100% of profits from Go For Brogue will benefit the Al D. Rodriguez Liver Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting awareness of the Hepatitis virus and liver cancer.
I also think these heels are totally work appropriate. I could see myself wearing them with a blank pencil shirt and blouse, a simple dress, or slacks and a shirt.
What do you all think of the Go For Brogue pump? Would you get it? ShoeDazzle shoes are all $39.95 (plus I get 20% off because I haven’t made a first purchase yet). Not too bad of a price for these cuties, IMO 😉

Before hubby lost his job, I had ordered my favorite September Jewelmint pieces, which I received a few weeks ago. I really like Jewelmint and had several attractive vintage-inspired pieces this month. Read on for reviews…
Jewelmint Isis Earrings
I actually had to buy these from eBay because they had sold out on Jewelmint.com. I got a really good deal on them, which is nice. I was initially attracted to these dangly earrings because of their name, Isis (I’m Egyptian and my name, Nout, is the mother of Isis in ancient Egyptian mythology). I also like long, dangly earrings and I love the art deco-esque style of the trapezoids.
The verdict: they are super cute and super long but they are heavy and uncomfortable. They are so heavy that after 8+ hours at work wearing Isis, my ear loves are sore. Plus, the stud earring tops (whatever you call the part that attaches the earrings to your lobes) really should be a leverback clasp type earrings instead of the studs. The studs don’t really stay in well.
All in all, very cute earrings but not really worth the cost because I don’t find them wearable everyday. They are currently sold out on Jewelmint, but you can pick up a pair on eBay for a lot less than the usual $30 cost.
Jewelmint Savoy Bracelet
As soon as I saw the Savoy bracelet with September’s Jewelmint choices, I knew I had to have her. And with Twirly Skirt‘s super awesome Jewelmint giveaway that I won, I was able to choose the Savoy as part of my contest winnings :). Twirly Skirts is a fantastic fashion blog that I recommend you go check out.
The verdict: I LOVE the Savoy’s vintag-y art deco-esque style and the little blingy rhinestones. I don’t usually wear bracelets but this one’s a winner. It’s very comfortable too. I’m able to wear the bracelet on the tightest toggle loop even though I’m of larger build with larger wrists (so if you have slim wrists, the Savoy might be slightly loose on you). The color of the metal is a brassy antique-y looking color and the rhinestones are more of a gray than a clear. I do have metal allergies and so far, this bracelet has not given my a rash. Yay!
Even though my buddy Milt said the Savoy bracelet looked like a belt buckle, I don’t care, I love the Savoy and think you will too! Especially if you like vintage or vintage-style jewelry.
Jewelmint Gatsby Bracelet
Another bracelet! As I said, not being a huge fan of bracelets, I’m surprised that 2 Jewelmint bracelets caught my eye this month. Again, I love it’s art deco-inspired style and the rhinestone blingyness.
The verdict: comfortable, wearable, seems to be of good quality, and so far not causing any metal allergy reactions. Under spotlights, the rhinestones shine and shimmer quite a bit. I love this Gatsby bracelet!
Faye Dynasty Earrings
Again, a vintage-inspired piece from Jewelmint that really caught my eye. I thought I’d love these earrings. They are dainty and pretty on the site. [sorry for lack of a better photo].
The verdict: Cute and comfortable but that’s about it. Nothing really excites me about the 1940’s inspired Faye Dynasty earrings. The little rhinestone is dull and cheap looking. Definitely not worth $30. I’d pay $10 for them, tops.
I would not recommend the Faye Dynasty earrings unless you can get them for a steal on eBay or trade them for jewelry that you don’t see yourself wearing anymore.
Jewelmint Fifth Avenue Earrings
Ok, ok, another vintage-inspired piece. I am a huge fan of vintage, art deco style jewelry. The Fifth Avenue earrings were highly highly recommended by a fellow Jewelmint lover on the JM facebook page. She stated that these were her most favorite Jewelmint piece, so I was intrigued.
The Verdict: I am really torn about these earrings. On one hand I like them, on the other hand I don’t think they’re art deco-y enough. And also, I’m not sure they’re worth $30. Also they are slightly heavy. Not as heavy as Isis but heavier than I’d like.
I’m still on the fence with the Fifth Avenue earrings. I might be selling them on eBay soon… we’ll see. They are almost sold out on jewelmint.com.
What do you think Ladies — do you like my September Jewelmint loot? Do you have any favorite vintage or vintage-inspired Jewelmint or other brand jewelry pieces?

I haven’t forgotten about blogging, I’ve just had a really rough few weeks. My beloved grandfather passed away last week and then this week my husband very unexpectedly lost his job. Plus hubby and I are low-carbing it and we’re just getting over carb flu now [it’s not bad at all, just makes you less able to deal with stress when you don’t feel well physically]. So, all in all, a sad few weeks for me. But I am happy that we’re finally losing weight and I’m thankful to still have the love of my life, a roof over my head, and my job, which I love. And my grandfather Joseph will live on in my memory and in those of my father, aunt, my brothers, and many other friends and relatives. RIP.
That being said, I’m going to have to change my shopping habits, reigning in my spending and being as frugal and prudent with money as I can [basically, a “shopping diet”]. I hope to still be blogging, just not shopping as much.
Thanks for listening!
