my life through the instagram lens

hello kitty everywhere

Anyone that knows me knows that I have had a love for Hello Kitty since the mid 90s. Not surprisingly, the brand has become very popular recently (how can something as cute as Hello Kitty and other Sanrio characters not be popular)?

The latest merchandise to emerge from the Sanrio brand has been:

A) a JustFab.com Hello Kitty shoe collection – WHAT?!

My favorite is DEFINITELY the peep toe pump with the gorgeous red hear print and adorable hello kitty charm.

B) Forever21 has launched yet another Hello Kitty/Chococat/Sanrio clothing and accessory line

Are there any other Hello Kitty / Sanrio fans out there?

As you may have gathered, I’ve been really into second hand clothes shopping lately. It’s a great way to build your wardrobe without blowing your budget. But sometimes, I don’t have the time to drive to all the thriftshops and consignment stores around town and look through all the racks. Enter Poshmark…an app that lets you shop anywhere, anytime.

Poshmark has a fantastic iphone/ipad app that you can use to buy and sell new and gently used fashion and accessories, including shoes, jewelry, and handbags. Basically, it’s like ebay, Instagram, and facebook had a baby… and it’s AWESOME! And for you Android users, don’t worry, they’re working on that!

Please come and check out my closet and follow me! All you need to do is create an account. It’s free! If you decide to sell, Poshmark charges a flat 20% fee, which is quite reasonable!

So don’t delay, check out Poshmark and you might find some great deals!

It’s Here: Sophie Theallet for The Limited

Honestly, I had no idea who designer Sophie Theallet was before I got the email from The Limited about their collaboration collection. The anticipation had me really excited. Well, I am really liking the Bow-Detail Dress — like REALLY! The signature bow dress comes in fuchsia/pink, orange, black, and white. It can be worn with or without the rhinestone belt and with or without the cardigan.

I’d wear the pink dress with the rhinestone belt and a pair of cute plain pumps. The dress is $108, which I normally wouldn’t spend just on 1 item but depending on the fit of this dress, it might be worth the price. Too bad the collection is only available online, otherwise I’d go try it in the store.

What do you think of the Sophie Theallet collection?

still on my wishlist

Ever since Target launched the Liberty of London collection several years ago, I’ve been in love with the brand and their unique, quirky prints. Interestingly enough, I find out that my mom used to own some of their fabric back in the 70s when she lived in London.

This Liberty of London Dr. Martens boot has been on my wishlist since April. I still LOVE it and can’t get it out of my head. I’m obsessed with the Strawberry Thief print. The collection boasts other boots as well as satchels but these are my favorites. At $130, they’re pretty pricey but my other Dr. Martens boots I got when I was 16 and they’re still kicking (I’m almost 28 years old). So, I know they will last.

I don’t really wear boots much anymore (I used to wear cowboy boots all the time), but this fall I’ve been rediscovering the joy of wearing boots and having warm toes, so these babies would have a happy home in my closet.

What do you think of these boots? Are they worth the price? Is the print too weird? Please let me know what you think.
