hot to cold

Sorry that it’s been so long since I’ve blogged. Things have been a little overwhelming on my end: my mom’s been in town (she can’t find a job but has contract work in Rwanda for a few months), then our a/c finally breathed its last breath, and work has been really busy.

All last week, we didn’t have A/C at home and it’s been either very rainy and very humid and warm or just downright HOT. On Friday we finally had a new unit installed – yay! Happy to finally be sleeping in a climate controlled house and not be drenched in sweat every night.

So as you may have gathered, there have been very few outfit posts because I’ve been just bummin’ it basically. No makeup because there’s no point in wearing it if it’s just going to melt off your face, frizzy hair, and clothes only for comfort.

Here is something I wore the other day, nothing too exciting, but a cute summery dress that goes well from hot (outside) to cold (they keep the office I work in SO COLD – no complaints though!).

Going from Hot to Cold

Hope you are all doing well, dear readers! How do you stay cool in summertime?

    1. Thanks for the prayers, it’s a tough situation but at the very least she can stay with us when she gets back from her contract job. It’s tough though, because of the health insurance situation (she’s a cancer survivor).

I love blue – it’s one of my favorite colors!

  1. Love the Outfit… smart LOFT dress and the VS jacket is WOW, love double breasted jackets. Stay cool 🙂

    1. Thanks Pam! I am actually not a huge fan of this jacket. The sleeves are too long and it’s a cropped jacket but I feel it isn’t very flattering on me. Do you want it? LOL ;-P

    1. Oh myyyy, that is WAY too hot! In NC the heat isn’t too terribly bad, like nothing over 105 usually, but the humidity is just stifling! Like 80-100% humidity for months at a time.

  2. Your jacket is darling ~ if the sleeves are too long you can shorten them. Cropped jackets are hard to wear if one is short waisted. I am such a small size (4 -6) . I’ll pass on th ejacket as I have so many already. Maybe a consignment sale. Thanks ! The jacket looks great on you
