Happy Friday!

This post is dedicated to my love of skirt – specifically the ones that are tight on the waist and flouncy as they go down. I’ve seen them called various names – skater skirt, a-line skirt, full skirt, fit and flare skirt, circle skirt. Whatever you call them, they’re super cute and perfect for summer.

What do you think of these types of skirts? How would you wear them?

  1. very cute ! love th eruffled blouse with the gathered skirt. BTW it is not an A-Line skirt at all, someone missnamed them ~ A-Lines are an entirely different style. πŸ™‚ You look wonderful in this outfit ~ the blue is a cooling color.

      1. ALine skirts are just that . A-Line (shaped) like an A. No pleats no gathers. They general have a waist band but not always. They may or maynot have darts (I can’t remember for sure) but the darts would be at the hip area.

    1. well to be quite honest, it’s because I’m so addicted to it that I find great things. You really do have to go often and to more than just one store. THanks for stopping by πŸ˜‰

  2. I like skirts, but I always feel overdressed so I seldom wear them. I know it’s just me, but I can’t seem to get over it. I’m a stay at home mom, so I have few occasions to ‘dress up’. Shorts are my go-to for summer. Jeans for winter. But I do like skirts. I have lots. I just don’t wear them, ha ha!

    1. But skirts can also be super casual and “mom-on-the-go” – for example a nice denim skirt (maybe knee length) with a cotton v neck tee or a cotton tank top – paired with a comfy flats or flip flops and you’re casual but cool for the summer. Not sure if you have a denim skirt but I just bought one at the goodwill thrift store and I’m excited about the casual possibilities for summer;)

    1. You know my little secret – this skirt is a size too small but when I saw it at the thrift shop, I could not resist! And my sweet, chubby cat did NOT want to pose for a picture. He was squirming and making me laugh:) thanks for stopping by, Rebecca!

  3. Woohoo, my favorite kind of skirt! I love the print of yours and obviously the pockets are a fabulous touch! I definitely need to go thrifting to find some more skirts in this shape!

    1. I figured you’d like this one πŸ™‚ I definitely advocate thrifting. I just picked up like 6 tank tops (nice ones for work) the other day! whoooo! I think I’ve spent less than $50 this month at Goodwill and I’ve gotten so many nice things.

  4. Looks so nice on you; the colours and style suit you well. I like your necklace too – I am short (and short-waisted) too, and thought I couldn’t wear this style of necklace, but I’m wondering if I just need to find the right length.

    1. Thank you Jo! I love long necklaces even though I am also very short. You just have to find the right length because some are too short and hang right on my boobs and are annoying. And of course some are too long and hang below your belly button. You could always make your own!

      1. Oh you’re welcome dear! Yeah, full skirt is definitely your must have piece, it’s perfect to for your silhouette.
