bye bye jacket, hello vest!

I really wouldn’t call this a refashion. This is more of a jacket makeover! This project helped me do 2 things: 1. I really wanted denim vest and 2. I had a double breasted jean jacket that I wasn’t really wearing and didn’t really like all that much. The sleeves were too long and too tight.

So, I simply cut the sleeves off the jacket. I had some technical difficulties because I keep forgetting that sewing like 3 layers of thick denim is next to impossible unless you have industrial machinery. Alas, it didn’t turn out as perfect as I expected but who cares? You can’t really tell šŸ™‚

I wore my brand new vest to work yesterday with a maxi dress. I think I like it better worn open:

  1. A big yes! The style is very cute and shows up better without the sleeves distracting from it. Looks good open and buttoned. Good call.

    1. hi Jo! thank you for your kind words of encouragement. Even though I hated the sleeves, I did worry if I was doing the ‘right thing’ by cutting them off. I’m glad I did šŸ™‚ xoxo
