recently thrifted: cute dress, flats, awesome vintage bag

I was very proud of myself wearing all thrifted yesterday. Love this dress but not sure how I feel about these shoes. They’re hella comfortable but look like “mom shoes”. I’m sorry if that’s insulting, I’m not trying to be – I just mean they’re practical and comfortable.

I’m still trying to get a hang of what flats to wear with dresses because normally I’d wear pumps with this dress, but because my back pain has been acting up these past few weeks, I chose flats. Not a fan of these but they were cheap and they’re comfortable so I think I’ll keep them.

As for the bag, I could not be happier. I LOVE VINTAGE COACH BAGS! So funny how “everything old is new again!” Older bags are really well-made but the leather is soft and supple, and the imperfections give it character.

Well, that’s all folks. Hope you have a great Tuesday!

  1. I know what you mean about the shoes not making you feel quite like yourself. My best friend was injured in a car accident and cannot wear heels of any kind, nor can she wear just “any” shoes. She has to buy special shoes that don’t hurt her neck, but she did find some she’s happy with. Keep hunting–you’ll find some you like and that are cute, and then you won’t feel so out of your own skin (so to speak) when you wear flats with dresses. For the record, I don’t think the dress looks bad at all with flats. 🙂

    1. Oh, wow, your poor friend. I am glad she’s better and has figured out what works for her. And also thanks for the encouragement, I am looking forward to trying on different flats and seeing what looks best with a dress (and what’s the most comfortable). xoxo

  2. That bag is to die for!!! What a great find! I also love the sandals with that dress. I’ve been totally into flats lately (probably due to laziness) and dressy sandals and pointy toes still make me feel dressed up and elegant when I’m not in heels. The shiny red is perfect!

    1. Why, thank you:) I am a lover of vintage bags to a fault – if I find one in good condition at Goodwill or other thrift stores, I can’t resist. I am looking forward to trying some pointy toe flats, Sole Society has one that’s also a t-strap and I have liked it for a while. I can see that type of shoe going with just about anything 🙂

  3. Amazing find on your thrifted Coach bag! That’s definitely a classic style that will look great no matter what year it is. I love the neckline of your dress too! And I agree that comfort is more important than looking cute when you back has you in pain 😦 Poor thing! I have a black pair of pointy toe flats that I wear to work a lot and I find that they look professional but are also super comfortable!

    1. Thanks, Miranda! Yeah, I am really loving those Sole Society point t-strap flats I posted last week. Didn’t you say that Sole Society shoes are at Nordstrom now? I’d like to try them on in person because I’m not sure how they’d work with my wide feet. xo
