june 2015 budget

Hi friends, another month, another budget post. June was another extremely busy month for me and I’ve still not been able to get back into the habit of blogging more frequently, even though I’ve wanted to. Plus, the weather’s either been unseasonably hot or rainy and humid, which doesn’t make my outfit choices very exciting or blog-worthy.

But bad weather usually makes no difference when it comes to shopping (both thrift shopping and new clothes shopping), and I’ve a few new goodies to blog about:

5. Banana Republic layer-back tank, on sale at BR for $38
6. Talbots skirt, thrifted $3.59
7. Orla Kiely bag, consignment store for $15 after consignment credit and discount
8. Chameleon Clogs hand made in North Carolina, $150

16. NY&co. floral blouse, thrifted $1.49
Not pictured: Gap yellow shirt $5, 2 cotton dresses for $2.50 each (all thrifted)

I suppose that wasn’t too bad, taking into account consignment credits and whatnot:)

Well, it’s now your turn to spill the beans…how did you do this month?

  1. Love the twill military vest! I’ve eyed it up several times, but it never seemed like it fit right. I’m under budget this month as well, but I didn’t manage to bring it down anywhere near the total you did!

Also, love your blog name 🙂

    1. It’s a great vest, Cassie. It does run a bit large, so I’d recommend sizing down (that’s what I did – I normally wear an xl but ended up with l and it fits really well). Thanks for the kind words re: the name, I think it confuses a lot of people 🙂

  2. OOH, I love the Orla Kiely bag – what a score! 😀

You did better than me. I’m currently in the negatives with my shopping, but hoping to get back on track and back into the positives soon! I’ve got heaps of stuff I’m trying to sell, so hopefully that will go well for me.

    1. Thanks, yeah that was a nice find although it’s in gently used shape and that plastic covering is already starting to show wear. Not the quality product I thought it would be. One negative month isn’t awful, I’m sure you’ll get back on track. Can you consign the stuff you’re not wearing, that’s what I do and it’s easy and quick.

  3. Again, your bargain hunting impresses me! My favorite pieces are the army vest and red printed skirt. $3.59? What a steal! Do you follow Janeane of Designing from my Closet? She recently did a post on styling sleeveless layering pieces (like your new vest!) for summertime.

This month I bought accessories but managed to score pieces at outlets and on clearance. I bought two pairs of heels from a Nine West outlet for under $60, so I was pretty pleased with that!
