day to night dress {workwear wednesday}

Hi friends,

I feel like it’s been a while since I’ve actually blogged. I really wanted to make an effort to post something today because I’m going to be on vacation all next week so I’ll be taking another little break from the blog. I hope everyone’s having a great summer so far. Mine has been busy!

About this outfit, it’s my take on a work-appropriate dress and dressing it down (I decided to make my “night” look more casual). I thrifted this fun striped dress not long ago and I just love how comfortable and cute it is–perfect for summer.

Dress + nice cardigan + black flats + purse = comfy but chic for the workday!

Dress + jean jacket + wedges + purse = cute and casual to go out after work!

Do you take your work outfits from day to night? How do you make the transition?

nice & nautical {workwear wednesday}

Well, it has been a veritable whirlwind these past few weeks with class, work, many wonderful visitors in town, and kickball season. That means that my blog has been slightly neglected and I haven’t had time to take outfit photos for the past few weeks.

That being said, the nautical look is one of my favorites for summer and so I’ve got a few outfits from the past that I can bring back into rotation. Nautical clothes make me think of summertime, the beach, and a little preppy. I love stripes, the colors blue, white (and sometimes red), and nautical prints like anchors.

Do you like nautical styles? Would you wear them to work?

beachy, breezy workwear

It’s June. The sun is shining. The weather is getting warmer by the minute. It’s almost summer. I don’t know about you but I’ve had the beach on my brain for a few weeks now.

Because I don’t have plans to go to the beach anytime soon (sadface), I’ve decided to bring the beach to me, specifically to the office, by wearing something breezy and beachy. How about a fun dress with ruffles and a floral print? And maybe a casual cardigan to make it a bit more office-appropriate (even though I work in a very casual office and nobody cares)?
