button-down bliss {workwear wednesday}

I love button-down shirts. They are just so darn classy. Wear them with slacks or tucked into a skirt and boom — you’re automatically so business-like. Keep them untucked, paired with jeans, or (like me) tie a little bow and maybe you’re bit more causal.

Because the summers here in North Carolina keep dragging on until what seems like winter, I rely on my trusty sleeveless chambray button-down shirt to keep my cool and chic at the same time. This is a Gap shirts that I picked on on ebay for a great deal, and it’s quickly become one of my favorites. The only problem is I’ve lost a few lbs and it’s becoming quite loose. So, I decided to take a risk and tie it around my waist to give it more definition. I got so many complements at work on the day I wore this so I’ve decided it’s a winner. This slightly more carefree way to style your button-down might work better at casual offices or on weekends.

  1. Fabulous outfit! I love button downs and chambray but haven’t been able to make either work on myself. The chambray always feels to bulky on the arms and shoulders, but now I might need to look for something sleeveless! I love tying a button down. I’ve actually stolen a few of my husbands shirts and repurposed them šŸ˜‰

    1. I definitely recommend sleeveless button-downs! I love chambray anything but I especially like this shirt because it’s the perfect weight for summer but can easily transition into fall. I might end up getting it taken in a bit because I like it so much.
