For this week’s Workwear Wednesday outfit, I give you what will most likely be the last sweater that I wear for the season. Spring’s here in North Carolina, and that means thunderstorms, yellow pollen covering everything, and impending heat!
What I love about this combination is that it’s unapologetically bright – which is kind of how I roll. To me this says “I know I have to wear a sweater because I’m cold, but I’m going to wear summer colors dammit.”
What do you think of neon for late winter/early spring?
Don’t forget to check out Justine’s gorgeous Workwear Wednesday outfit on her blog!
Sweater: Madewell neon sweater, thrifted
Shirt: Express Portofino shirt in pineapple print, Poshmark
Pants: GAP straight leg jeans, thrifted
Shoes: Bionica Sirus wedge shoes, boutique in CA
That’s a lot of alliteration but it was worth it. I’m such a huge fan of wrap dresses; they’re classy, perfect for work, and always so flattering. I had my eye on this lovely NWT BCBGMaxAzria dress at my favorite consignment shop and was able to snag it at 50% off and using my credits so it didn’t cost me anything. I’m excited to wear it for the spring. It also doesn’t hurt to get some compliments from your coworkers 🙂
Speaking of spring, it’s been termite hell week at our house as we battle yet another infestation 😦 Being a homeowner has its ups and downs and this week has been a down. Take care of your houses, folks, as termites can do a lot of damage! But on a happier note, my mom got into the clinical trial that she wanted to do for her cancer treatment and she starts her first infusion on March 30th. Thanks for keeping us in your thoughts.

I am a huge fan of the color pink. I can wear pink almost every day, given the chance. I will tell you a little secret though – light pinks do not work well with my complexion.
Like this blouse here, I was super obsessed with the style, so I overlooked the color. I have a soft spot for tops with tie necks! So here I’ve worn the lighter pink with a bright pink in the hopes of making it work, I hope it does 🙂
Do you have that one article of clothing that may not be the right color but that you can’t resist?
Top: Banana Republic, last year?
Skirt: Banana Repiblic, ThredUp
Tights: HUE, Nordstrom Rack
Boots: Born, thrifted
PS. I think my blog turned 6 years old this month (WHOA). THANK YOU to all of you friends, both local and virtual, who have commented, liked, and followed through the years. This is what blogging is all about 🙂

TOTAL = $302.96 … y’all, I totally blew though my budget. Ugh. Again. I think the stress of my mother’s illness and the new job is not helping, and I’ve been shopping more to cope. Honestly, I do not want to be spending this much! I’m going to try and do better in March. Wish me luck.
How did you do this month?
I missed out on the linkup with Franish, but you should go check out her February budget post anyway 🙂
It may not really be a uniform, but I’ve been rocking the standard skirt plus blouse combo several times at my new job. It’s quick and easy and looks polished and put together. The only downside of wearing a skirt is the wind likes to take it for a little spin. And is it just me or are downtown areas extra windy?
Also I had wear my brand new pair of Dansko sandals…they are AMAZING y’all. So comfortable and stylish.
