skirt, blouse, cardigan {workwear wednesday}

Y’all, it has been raining non-stop for 4 days! It’s so gloomy and doomy (and so muddy) that we couldn’t take pictures outside. We even had a tornado watch today. Oh, North Carolina!

I present to you…one of my favorite outfit combinations: skirt + blouse + cardigan (or jacket). There is no easier way to pull together an outfit and feel like a fancy career woman! Hah!

You don’t want to miss Justine’s Workwear Wednesday post, so go check it out!

lemonade {workwear wednesday}

This week has been another super hectic week at work with so many projects all going on at once and nothing seems to be moving toward completion. But, I absolutely love my job and have to peel myself away from it most of the time. And my mom is still undergoing her cancer treatments, and they’ve been making her really tired, but we’re keeping our spirits up.

As for the weather, today was probably the first really hot day of the year, topping out at 90 degrees. I think this fun lemon-print skirt is the perfect warm weather companion. And yes, I’ve been drinking a lot of lemonade too.

Definitely go check out what Justine is wearing for Workwear Wednesday, because I guarantee it’s super cute.

sassy spring dress {a workwear wednesday post}

Okay, so you don’t usually think of a little black dress (LBD) as being a spring dress. But the weather in my neck of North Carolina has been so lovely, I decided to break out my new BR dress to work today. And it worked perfectly because the dress is made of stretchy cotton. Only downside is it does wrinkle fairly easily.

I have to admit, the fun sleeves on this dress make me feel like a super hero or something? I don’t now. They’re fun. One interesting thing about this BR sheath dress {note: affiliate link} is that it does not look particularly special at all on their website or even in person. I actually went into a Banana Republic store to exchange a dress I had bought for another size, and the lovely associates ended up bringing me a bunch of different things to try on and this dress made feel so sassy when I put it on that I ended up buying it.

april 2017 budget

Y’all, I can’t even believe that tomorrow is May! I’ve been saying “it’s gonna be May” in my best Justin Timeberlake voice all day and I’m not ashamed.

Here’s what I bought this month, it’s not that much honestly. I ran into this cute flow-y polka dot dress at a local boutique and I just couldn’t leave without it. It had the trifecta: polka dot, comfort, and even a flower!

As for the necklace, Dansko boots, and Dankso sandals, I picked those up at my favorite local consignment store and because I had a decent credit from consigning clothes, I didn’t pay a thing 🙂

Polka dot rayon dress, Dansko Jacinda, Dansko boots, sterling necklace

1. Kiki (made in Indonesia) polka dot rayon dress, $65 from local boutique
2. Dansko boots, consignment credit
3. Dansko Jacinda sandals, consignment credit
4. Opal (lab? not sure) and sterling necklace, consignment credit

TOTAL = $65

Quarterly budget (April – June) of $375 – $54 = $310 left for May and June.

How did you do this month?

As always, linking up with Franish!

workwear wednesday: keyhole dress

I’ve had this dress for several years and I love it. I was incredibly pleased when I found it at a thrift store for less than $5 (you know how expensive Boden is!). The triple keyhole neckline is one of my favorite details.

There’s really not much else to say about this dress, haha. Here’s what’s been going on in my life this week:

  • Work is crazy.crazy.crazy.busy
  • Hit up an estate sale last weekend and got some vintage goodies for my collection!
  • Getting ready to set up at a flea market this weekend
  • Not much else
  • My mom has gone back home to Bakersfield for a week

Alright, y’all that’s it for me but you don’t want to miss what Justine is wearing for Workwear Wednesday!
