For ModCloth’s Uniquely You campaign, I created this Polyvore set/outfit around the Vivacious and Vibrant Dress in Noir. I was inspired by vintage-inspired elements such as the hat and the earrings, but also more modern elements such as the shoes and the handbag. I wanted to maintain a little vintage edge while at the same time injecting playfulness and whimsy into the outfit. The shoes are some of my absolute favorite shoes (Mel by Melissa) so of course I couldn’t resist adding them to this set. Basically, this outfit has some of my favorite thing: hearts, flowers, polka dots, bows, vintage-y flair, starts, and cute-ness!
Modcloth has so many cute dresses and accessories – they have something for every budget and even extended sizes, which is really great for us curvy gals.
What do you think? Hope you all like it. Happy wednesday – be sure to check my blog tomorrow for the (almost) weekly Thrift Style Thursday post!
One of my favorite ways to show off a pair of hot high heels is by wearing my cropped slim fit/skinny pants.
And one of my favorite ways to show off skinny pants/jeans is with a loose fitting blouse 🙂
Outfit Deets: Shoes: Betsey Johnson Sita peeptoe pumps in teal, amazon.com clearance from 2012 [still available] Top: Blue patterned blouse, thrifted $3.59 (can’t remember brand) Pants: Cropped slim cut pants, banana republic from a few seasons ago Tank: Old navy, old Necklace: Anchor nautical necklace, thelimited.com [NLA] Toe Polish: Butter by London pillar box red nail polish (THIS STUFF IS GREAT!)
My husband said something the other day and I thought it was funny enough to share… He said to me – “You never wear the same outfit twice!”
Not fair, that’s only 90% true =P. I’m lucky that my frugal shopping ways and thrifting (and job) have allowed me the ability to own a lot of clothes and shoes. I am thankful for not wanting for anything, that’s for sure.
What about you, dear readers? Do you find yourself wearing the same favorite pieces or do you tend to wear a different thing almost every day?
Outfit Details: Top: Target + Webster Miami blouse, ebay (can’t remember price) Pants: vintage Escada white cropped pants, thrifted $2.99 Shoes: Betsey Johnson Maggi polka dot bow pumps, old from Amazon, seen HERE. Necklace: fuchsia plastic link necklace, veryjane.com, seen HERE and HERE.
Got my Betsey Johnson Maggi polka dot bow pump the other day from Amazon and wore them to work yesterday.
My extra special shoe ratings:
Style: LOVE IT! I am a huge fan of round toe pumps and bows on shoes. The heel is chunky and awesome. The suede has polka dots, which i love. Also, a little tiny bit of espadrille makes this a great spring/summer shoe (sorry I’m a little late to the game). 5/5.
Fit: I ordered the 9.5 even though I normally wear a 9. They are narrow and small. Not the best fit as my feet are wide but someone with narrower feet would most likely fit better. They are NOT comfortable unfortunately as the heel is very high without much of a platform. I wore them to work and had to shuffle around all day. 2/5.
Color: LOVE the light pink suede but it does get dirty quickly. I sprayed my Maggi with suede protector/water-proofer. 4/5.
Quality: I haven’t worn Maggi long enough to tell but so far so good. 5/5.
Price: normally these bow pumps are about $100. I would not pay that much for these pumps because they are not everyday shoes. I got them for a steal though. 3/5.
Overall: 3.8/5. I love the Maggi pump but because of the comfort factor, I don’t see wearing her except for maybe 1-2 times per month. Um, also, the SOLES are freaking awesome! check out the bright pink and flowery pattern on the bottom sole. Awesome!
I have a $20 gift card to Amazon.com and I’ve decided [no surprise here] to purchase another pair of shoes for my collection. I need help choosing one.
Which shoes do you like better?
The Betsey Johnson Maggi pump [in polka dot suede – not shown]. I tried these on at Nordstrom Rack and the 9.5 fit pretty well. They are pretty high though and I wouldn’t recommend running around in them.
Betsey Johnson Infatuation? Chee from Shoe Doctor, PhD blog has these babies in red. They are smokin’ hot! Unfortunately, Chee recommends sizing up but there is no size 9.5.
