For ModCloth’s Uniquely You campaign, I created this Polyvore set/outfit around the Vivacious and Vibrant Dress in Noir. I was inspired by vintage-inspired elements such as the hat and the earrings, but also more modern elements such as the shoes and the handbag. I wanted to maintain a little vintage edge while at the same time injecting playfulness and whimsy into the outfit. The shoes are some of my absolute favorite shoes (Mel by Melissa) so of course I couldn’t resist adding them to this set. Basically, this outfit has some of my favorite thing: hearts, flowers, polka dots, bows, vintage-y flair, starts, and cute-ness!
Modcloth has so many cute dresses and accessories – they have something for every budget and even extended sizes, which is really great for us curvy gals.
What do you think? Hope you all like it. Happy wednesday – be sure to check my blog tomorrow for the (almost) weekly Thrift Style Thursday post!
Well, it’s no longer Thursday but better late than never! I couldn’t let this TST go by without participating because I love the nautical theme. I decided to really have fun with this theme and go for a little more costume-y. I even wore my outfit to work and got a few complements. It was a rainy, stormy day, so the outfit kind of made sense, especially with my polka dot rainboots.
Then my mom surprised me quite a bit when she said she wanted us to take a “selfie” – I had no idea she knew what that meant. 😉 How silly.
Here are some more nautical-ish outift I’ve worn before –
Dr. Martens + Liberty London 1460 boots || Navy + Yellow Strawberry Thief Leather || $130
d.RA Mona Dress (clearance from Piperlime) || Thrifted Nautical Shrug $3.59 || Thrifted Lands End Ballet Flats $5
And of course, don’t miss the rest of the TST crew:
So, I was wearing this grungy outfit the other day: plaid, jeans, vest, Docs. But I was having a really really bad day at work and when I got home, I didn’t feel like having my picture taken. So instead of my actual ‘grunge’ outfit, I am showing off just 1 grunge-y piece, my new olive green utility jacket.
I can’t get enough of this jacket, it seems to go with everything. Here are 2 ways I wore it in the past few weeks. It’s kind of grunge-y right? Paired with docs and something flannel screams grunge to me.
Well, thats it folks. Sorry for a late and lackluster #TST post this week but I am still super stressed at my new job. Hoping it gets better soon.
Don’t forget to check out the rest of the TST crew!
I’ve been seeing a lot of striped sweater over chambray shirts with statement necklaces and I had to do my own version. Plus I bought this new sock bun contraption and I wanted to share my findings with you all…
I’ve been wanting to do the sock bun thing for a while but wasn’t too sure about using an actual sock. While I was out looking for tights at TJ Maxx, I found the Bend-a-Bun sock bun contraption and since it was on clearance for $4.50, I didn’t mind that it was the wrong color (for blonde hair not brown).
Well I’m happy to report that it’s very easy to use and lasts pretty much all day. It does help if you have thicker hair (I have fine hair and it’s frizzy and/or curly so here I had to straighten it). Instructions are provided and what’s cool is that you can make several different hairstyles with it, not just a sock bun.
What do you think about sock buns? Have you ever tried one?
