newly thrifted: polka dot dress & stuart weitzman heels

Hi friends, I hope you’re having a good weekend so far. I did some thrifting today and found nothing ūüė¶ but last week I made out like a bandit and I want to share a few of my favorite finds: a sweet Lands End polka dot dress, a stretchy Worth belt, and OMG I CAN’T BELIEVE I FOUND THESE – almost brand new Stuart Weitzman kitten sandals. I’ve seriously lusted over this brand for a while and the shoes were either WAY too expensive or not my size. So of course, these SW sandals are my new favorites – the heel is about 1.75″ so they’re super comfortable and yet still stylish.

See what you think…

glamorous gothic {a thrift style sunday post}

So I totally forgot to post this on Thursday. My bad, I guess life and work got in the way (as usual). This week’s theme was gothically gorgeous. I really didn’t know what that meant but I thought maybe wearing¬†the color black and adding a little office chic to the outfit would work. Plus I wore heels for the first time in forever, yay! So here’s what I came up with:

thrift style thursdays – shorts for fall

Hi dearies,

Today I am linking up with Zhenya of BeingZhenya and Martyna of Spoolish to bring you a Thrift Style Thursday post – the “how to style shorts for fall” edition.

thrift style thursdays - shorts for fallFirst let me start by saying that I am not a shorts person. I don’t like them.¬† I have chubby, stubby legs and I don’t like showing too much of them. I don’t think they look good on me. I have 1 pair of khaki shorts (for when it’s super hot in the summer) and 1 pair of black bermuda short and I hardly ever wear either.

But when I was invited to join the Thrift Style Thursday linkup by Zhenya and Martyna, I couldn’t say no. Plus, I really wanted to think outside of my fashion comfort zone and try something new.

So, there’s the result…how to style shorts for fall. Here’s the fashion formula I was going for. I think this look can really work for any body style and budget. Curvy gals like me shouldn’t necessarily avoid shorts.

1. black or dark colored shorts +
2. Tights or fishnets (for added warmth) +
3. Loose blouse +
4. Jacket or blazer +
5. Heels or a pair of comfy booties (here I show you both, but I only wore the booties to work)
= Super cute chic look for fall (for the office, school, dinner, etc)

showing off heels…

One of my favorite ways to show off a pair of hot high heels is by wearing my cropped slim fit/skinny pants.

And one of my favorite ways to show off skinny pants/jeans is with a loose fitting blouse ūüôā
