Hi friends! Happy 4th of July (America’s Birthday!). I hope you had a great day – I sure did enjoy spending this glorious day with my inlaws and my mom. I know this post is a day late…but here it is nonetheless. I adore bright colors but usually try them in smaller doses than with this outfit. However, I’ve been a fan of neon since the 80s so I enjoyed this week’s TST theme.
Well, what do you think of neon?
Top: J.Crew neon t-shirt, thrifted $3.39
Skirt: Gap, about 10 years old!
Shoes: beloved Birkenstock sandals, over 6 years old
it’s been raining a lot. I mean, A LOT. Like, enough to cause flooding and make us wish we had an ark. The weather’s also been super hot + humid. Good thing I work in an office all day where they like to crank up the A/C, do I don’t have to wear shorts + tank tops all the time to stay cool.
I also wanted to share with you my newly thrifted Lamarthe tote. I was so happy to find it for a few dollars (!!!) at Value Village in Charlotte, NC, especially because these bags are expensive when new. Then I brought it home and realized it reeks like stale cigarette smoke. Not good. So I stopped using it and have it sitting in a my closet with a sachet of smell goods + baking soda. I know I need to leave it out in the sun for a few days but because of the rain….well, you get the idea.

I’m trying to distract myself from the Duke/Carolina basketball game by blogging about some new and gorgeous shoes at Payless.
Here are my favorites so far are in the gallery below:
My number one favorite has to be the Christian Siriano for Payless Anna Wedge Bootie. It’s not usually my “style” but I just can’t enough of its modern lines and cool texture. And at under $70, not a bad price (and that’s with no coupons)!
Most of the shoes in the gallery can be found here. Images courtesy of Payless.com.
What do you think of Payless’ spring new arrivals? Anything you’d consider purchasing?
Don’t forget, Payless often has prom codes/coupons as well as their infamous BOGO 50% sale. Get on their email list for codes and latest arrivals.
I recently had a chance to try Zoya nail polish for only the price of shipping. This was the very first to try Zoya, and I must say, I’m impressed with their range of colors. It’s almost spring and so it’s time to break out the ultra bright colors! Whoohoo!
Being a lady obsessed with pinks, reds, and purples (and the occasional glitter or grey polish), I picked Zoya Charisma to try, a rich and bright purple, pink, magenta, slightly neon, matte color. Unfortunately I don’t think I accurately captured how beautiful this color is in real life.
Things to note about Charisma:
I wore the color for about a week. It started chipping after 2 days of wear.
I wore the nail polish on clean nails. 2 layers of charisma followed by 1 layer of top coat (my current favorite is Ulta topcoat).
The polish actually dries matte, but becomes glossy after you apply topcoat.
The polish dried fairly quickly and isn’t too thick when applied, which is really great because it helps you avoid bubbles in the polish.
The color itself is amazing. Depending on angle and intensity of light, it looks more purple, sometimes pink, sometimes magenta, and sometimes neon.
It’s one of my favorite nail polish colors but I am disappointed that I can only wear it chip-free for a few days.

What do you think of this color? Have you ever tried Zoya nail polish?
