I love a good statement necklace. Wearing a classy but pizzazz-less work ensemble? No worries, just add a sparkly statement necklace. Also, I own an embarrassing amount of jewelry. I had to go out and buy a human-sized jewelry armoire to hold it all. And by that, I mean the thing is my size.
Here’s what I wore to work yesterday:
Don’t forget to mosey on over to Justine’s blog for her take on the statement necklace!
How about you, friends? Do you like statement necklaces?

Hi friends! Happy Wednesday. I’m finally back to blogging more (hopefully). A lot has happened in the past few weeks:
1. I had my arm procedure and 2 subsequent weeks off work (it was nice to get a chance to relax)
2. I turned 30. WOW, I can’t believe that time has come. I’m feeling somewhat bummed but somewhat excited. It’s a strange feeling.
3. I returned back to work, although part time for a few weeks (doctor’s orders!).
4. I did A LOT of thrifting with my mother-in-law during my off time, because not being able to drive and being home alone is boring! So of course my January budget has been blown.
5. I finished reading a book!!!! I had hoped to read 3 but actually finishing one is good; I’m a habitual non-book-finisher. BTW the book I read is Laura Shapiro’s Something From The Oven: Reinventing Dinner in 1950s America. It’s quite good!
Ok, now let’s discuss the good stuff, my workwear Wednesday outfit:
I hope you liked it! What are you wearing this Wednesday?

Hey there friends – hope you’re having a great week so far and thanks for checking out another workwear wednesday post! Today, I was wearing one of my favorite go-to outfits for work which is jeans and a nice top. It’s so easy to just throw on your favorite jeans (I like these Levi’s curve jeans because they’re comfy and they make my butt look nice, haha) and a nice blouse or top for a casual yet put-together office ensemble. Plus who doesn’t like mini polka dots?
Would you or do you wear jeans to work? How do you style them to be office appropriate?
I’ve been seeing a lot of striped sweater over chambray shirts with statement necklaces and I had to do my own version. Plus I bought this new sock bun contraption and I wanted to share my findings with you all…
I’ve been wanting to do the sock bun thing for a while but wasn’t too sure about using an actual sock. While I was out looking for tights at TJ Maxx, I found the Bend-a-Bun sock bun contraption and since it was on clearance for $4.50, I didn’t mind that it was the wrong color (for blonde hair not brown).
Well I’m happy to report that it’s very easy to use and lasts pretty much all day. It does help if you have thicker hair (I have fine hair and it’s frizzy and/or curly so here I had to straighten it). Instructions are provided and what’s cool is that you can make several different hairstyles with it, not just a sock bun.
What do you think about sock buns? Have you ever tried one?

I kinda broke my own rule and bought a new pair of shoes during the cyber monday sales (I had wanted to keep my expenditure for the month of December at $50, HAH). I had been wanting a pair of comfortable, stylish oxfords that were real leather, came in size wide, and were not $500. When I found the Rockport truwalk zero welt oxfords, it was pretty much love at first sight. They are so amazingly comfortable, I seriously had NO IDEA shoes could feel like this (non-athletic shoes I mean).
I wanted to ‘show off’ my new super comfortable yet still stylish shoes (just because I have back and foot problems does not mean I should lose my sense of style, right?!). And I’ve been seeing a lot of tweed lately…so TA DA…here I am wearing my new super sensible shoes + tweed jacket + my lovely Jason Wu for Target black cat tee.
Anyway, I hope you like these new shoes. I love them so much that I might wait for them to go on sale to get them in RED 😉
What’s on your fall/holiday wishlist? Please share!
