As usual I did a ton of thrifting (and a little ThredUp-ing) this month. I love what I got and I feel as though I’ll wear all of it (except maybe the vintage Coach bag, I plan on selling it). My favorite item is the Rough & Tumble bag that I’ve been crushing on for years. I finally made enough money from consignments and decided to treat myself. We’ll see how I do in January but it’s my birthday month so I might treat myself a little extra 😉

What about you? How did you do this month? What’s your plan for January?

november 2014 budget

Hi friends! I can’t believe that tomorrow is December! It seems this month has gone by quickly and thriftily. I guess I’ve been rebitten by the thrift bug this month because I’ve just not been able to stop thrifting! I even went thrifting with my mother-in-law for Black Friday.

Here’s what I got this month:

7. J. Crew white and navy polka dot dress, $4 from DRM Store. Ok so the story about this dress is that I couldn’t leave the store without it but it’s a size too small. I’m planning on getting back on track low carb-wise and losing a few pounds and hopefully it will fit. If not, then I can see if my tailor can let it out. If not then I’ll consign it, but it’s a great dress!

YIKES! Ok, so I spent almost $85 over my budget! But, I got a lot of GREAT staples, including the Sanita clogs, which I LOVE and wear almost every day! I’ve also got a bunch of stuff to consign and donate because I don’t want to have too much stuff, I want to have just the right amount of stuff, so I’m trying to get rid of stuff if I buy new stuff!

Ok friends, it’s your turn…how did you do this month? Did you do any thrifting or shopping for Black Friday at all?

October 2014 budget

Hi friends, another month has gone by and it’s time to share all my fashion-related purchases. Well I have to come clean, this month was not a good month for me and I’ll tell you exactly why. I’ve had a tough month stress-wise and I use thrifting to unwind and relieve stress. And the source of this extreme stress? Work. I hope it goes away soon.

Anyway, these are the lovely thrifted haul for the month:

october budget
october 2014 fashion budget

What I got this month (in no particular order):

  1. David Kahn Lauren jeans, ThredUp – $22
  2. 2 pair Gap jeans, Salvation Army Store – $12 for both
  3. EMU Ballina shearling boots, thrifted – $18
  4. Gap jean jacket, consignment store (used credit) – $0
  5. Jennifer Lopez cream polka dot blouse, Salvation Army Store – $4
  6. Halogen tie neck blouse (NWT from Nordstrom), Salvation Army Store – $5
  7. Old Navy polka dot beige cardigan, Salvation Army Store – $4
  8. Gap striped tee + Lands End zip up hoodie + AE tee + black stretchy pants (not pictured) + H&M striped tee, all thrifted – $20
  9. Gap geometric print blouse, ebay – $20 includes shipping

TOTAL = $105

I guess that’s not bad considering how many pieces, including some lovely weekend lounge wear, I got.

So for the past few months, I’ve been trying to keep my budget around $25 but I think that’s just not going to happen. I’m going to go back to my $100/month budget but I’m going to try and do the ‘one piece in, one piece out’ philosophy to try and keep from accumulating too much.

Well, it’s your turn to spill the beans, how did you do this month?

I’m linking up with Franish for the monthly budget posts, so don’t forget to check her out.

july 2014 fashion budget

So it seems that July was a GREAT month for me, budget-wise. A combination of not buying a lot of stuff plus selling lots of stuff = YAY not spending a lot!

So here’s what I got in July:

1. Vintage Dooney & Bourke bag. OK, this bag was very expensive (for me) but I just love the bright blue color, plus you all know I’m a sucker for vintage leather goods. $115 (incl. shipping) from Poshmark.
2. Coach Janice’s Legacy bag, thrifted $13
3. Coach light green wallet, thrifted $8
4. Gap leather belt, thrifted $1
5. Herve Chapelier tote bag, Clothes Mentor $14
6. Liberty London for Target floral blouse, ebay for $16
7. Liberty London dress, consignment store for $10
8. Clarks sandals (so comfy!), consignment store for $18
9. Silver right, consignment for $13
10. [Not Pictured] 2 bras and a tank top from Nordstrom on sale, $105 … I really need some new bras.

=SUBTOTAL $313
-Selling $75 worth of clothes at Clothes Mentor and $200 in consignments

=TOTAL (after selling clothes and consignment credits) $38

Ok so here’s the deal though, we just bought a new car since I gave my mom my old car to take to California with her when she moves there for her new job. But as you can imagine, having a car payment after many years of not having one means extra expenses. Plus I’d love to save up for a new couch. That means that I’m taking my monthly fashion budget from approx. $100 per month down to $25. My plan is to use this money to put toward the car payment or the new couch.

Well, I hope you all enjoyed my July budget breakdown. Now it’s time for YOU to spill the beans….how was your July???

florals and flowers

Springtime means it’s time to break out the floral prints, sandals, and it’s time to take a break and smell the flowers:)
