I am a huge fan of the color pink. I can wear pink almost every day, given the chance. I will tell you a little secret though – light pinks do not work well with my complexion.
Like this blouse here, I was super obsessed with the style, so I overlooked the color. I have a soft spot for tops with tie necks! So here I’ve worn the lighter pink with a bright pink in the hopes of making it work, I hope it does 🙂
Do you have that one article of clothing that may not be the right color but that you can’t resist?
Top: Banana Republic, last year?

PS. I think my blog turned 6 years old this month (WHOA). THANK YOU to all of you friends, both local and virtual, who have commented, liked, and followed through the years. This is what blogging is all about 🙂
Well, life and work has been so hectic and stressful that I can barely keep up with my blog. Plus look at my eyes in this picture…I look TIRED. Y’all, I love my new job but damn…I am worn out.
Anyway, I am SO IN LOVE with this amazing Leota dress. The fabric is so stretchy but at the same time thick and luxurious. I am a huge fan of the LBD– especially one with a fit and flare shape!
What do you think of LBDs for work? Don’t forget to see what Justine is wearing for workwear wednesday!

Today was day 3 at my new job at Red Hat in downtown Raleigh! It’s such an amazing, crazy, wonderful place. I’m completely overwhelmed of course–it’s my first time working in a corporate environment for such a large organization. Also, it’s my first time with such a long commute (and I’ve taken the bus for 2 days already, so that might start playing into my WWW outfit posts).
I know it’s Workwear Wednesday, but I wore this outfit for my first day of work on Monday! I love this pineapple print and wanted to add a bit of quirk to my first outfit.
I hope you’re having a good week so far, friends!

Sometimes, bright red is scary. Sometimes bright pants are scary. Put them together and you’ve got yourself a recipe for
disaster fun. Until recently, I was a little apprehensive of putting the brightest color in my outfit anywhere near my bottom.
Fast forward a couple of years, and seeing other bloggers pull them off (Justine has a great pair of red pants) plus gaining a bit more self-confidence, and I’m able to rock my bright red skinny cords with aplomb.
Here, I pair them with a feminine blouse and cardigan in more mellow blue hues. What do you think of bright red pants? Yes or no thanks?
Annnnnd of course I gave myself a little early holiday gift of *yet another* leather purse, this time a beautiful brown leather tote.

Meanwhile, here are some of my current favorite fall staples:
Isn’t my new headband/earwarmer AWESOME? My awesome friend and coworker Nicole made it just for me. If you like it, you should check out her Etsy store and request a custom project – she can make one just like it for you!
